Here's The Mail, It Never Fails

She's a rock. She is grace. She's an angel.
She's my heart and soul. She does it all.

I can promise this will not be my last post about my mother. You will most likely read her wise words throughout my Blog, or you will hear about the numerous ways she impacts my life each day.

I am very close with my parents. They have been married for over twenty-five years, and one day I hope to find and share the love with someone special that they share with one another. People always ask me if I am dating anyone or if there are any cute boys I am interested in at school. My honest response is "No, but when I find and form a relationship with someone as close as mine and my mother's relationship is then I'll know it's true love." As funny as it may sound, I believe this to be one of the truest statements I have ever made.

My Mom is my rock. I can confide in her with whatever kind of problem I am facing, and her advice exceeds far beyond what she intends it to be. I love her unconditionally, and I love her because she loves me. My Mom understands me; she gets me. She understands what I am going through even if she never went through it herself. When I doubt myself athletically or academically, she is the first person to point out my strengths. I text her more everyday than any other person in my contact list, and she is one of the few who knows just how to make me laugh with her use of Emoji characters.

Since my freshman year of college, my Mom has sent me cards, gift cards, or little things in the mail at least every month. She always finds the perfect timing to send her wise words my way, and the gift cards to Chick-Fil-A and Starbucks aren't that bad either. Today I received a little package in the mail, which has proven to be my favorite out of them all.

My card read, "I believe happily ever after is going to fit you really well. Keep on being the Princess you are." Along with the card, I received a gold bracelet with the phrase "She believed she could so she did" engraved across it. I love that my Mom understands and remembers the crazy schedule of a college student, and she always finds the perfect way in telling me how to persevere through any situation. She is a constant reminder that I can accomplish anything I set my mind on. Through her kindred spirit, bigheartedness, patience, and devotional love, she serves as more than a Mom.

She is my best friend.

Ephesians 6:1-3 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother' --which is the first commandment with a promise-- 'that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

With Love & Laughter,
Alison
