Thankful Thursday
While it is quickly approaching midnight, I felt compelled to share my morning and the powerful fellowship I shared with a few of my sorority sisters in our favorite college hot spot, Chick-Fil-A. For this semester, our chaplain decided to start a Bible Study every other week. This serves as a time for us all to be together in fellowship and enjoy reading the Lord's word before we start out for the busy day ahead of us. I love taking the time with my sisters to enjoy God's wisdom while sharing in love and laughter with one another.

My roommate found a dollar on the ground this morning, but I bent down to pick it up. I asked if she wanted it, but she later responded by saying we could just split it... |
This morning we talked about prayer, and how we may ask God for help but ignore His comfort. Sometimes we look towards God and ask for answers or signs to help us get through whatever we are currently dealing with. However, we are sometimes blind at the solutions God is putting right in our face.
"Hear, O Lord, my righteous plea; listen to my cry. Give ear to my prayer-- it does not rise from deceitful lips. May my vindication come from you; may your eyes see what is right." Psalms 17:1-2
"Hear, O Lord, my righteous plea; listen to my cry. Give ear to my prayer-- it does not rise from deceitful lips. May my vindication come from you; may your eyes see what is right." Psalms 17:1-2
For the longest time I questioned God and if He was truly listening to me. Why would He allow me to doubt myself and my decisions without providing the comfort I was asking for? The key word: patience. This is something I often find myself struggling with. In being patient, we may sometimes become irritated, and we begin to take our frustration out on God. We must trust in Him and know that in due time He will show us what is right in His eyes. The next time you find yourself in prayer over a conflict placed on your heart, go about your day with listening ears and watchful eyes. Sometimes we are blind to the answers and help God may be trying to provide us with.
"And I--in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness." Psalms 17:15
Today I am thankful for our sorority chaplain. Through her message, she reminded me to slow down and notice the world before me. Getting so caught up in the next appointment or assignment in my planner may take away from not only the answers I seek but the chance God may be using me to answer someone else's prayer. Tonight I pray for others to find the patience in the work our Lord does. For we serve an amazing God, who does listen and love wholeheartedly.
With Love & Laughter,
Alison
